An Open Letter to my Eternal Love

My dearest beloved,

I think you know how I feel about you. I say it every time I’m with you, and I think it even when I am not. But this doesn’t mean I shouldn’t say it again, and publicly this time.

You may not have a common figure, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t beautiful to me. You are soft, and warm, and you may not seem like much but you’ll always be home to me.

Your caramel skin is smooth and inviting one hundred percent of the time, and in my dreams I am always leaning against your arms.

We’ve had many great memories-that Harry Potter marathon, watching Gilmore Girls with my mom. I’ll always remember those times spent together. I feel like I’ve known you since my birth. We’ve always been the best of friends.

I’ve cried with you, I’ve laughed with you, I’ve hurt you, and I’ve fixed you. It’s been a wild ride.

We don’t go many places but we’ve still been everywhere together. And it’s not the miles in your life, it’s your life in your miles. I can’t imagine leaving you behind, but I know someday I will.

You are the most comfortable place I’ve ever been, my hardest goodbye and my easiest hello.

Even through the years, your warm embrace has comforted me. Our long nights together and our early mornings are the smoothest of my days. I’m with you as I type this, and you are only ever encouraging. That’s the kind of support I need in my life.

I’ll always treasure you.

You’ve been great to me.

I only hope my next couch will be as welcoming as you.

Love, your favorite butt,

  1. Ah, the emotion just oozes out of this post. I can relate to this so much. I miss him but it was my fault that he caught me with my bed. Oh, couch.
